They are absolutely horrible. Probably amongst the worst in the state. Right now they are defending a scandal concerning guidance counselors making up classes, in order for kids to graduate. Not to mention they can not close a 2 million dollar budget gap, so may have to cut services.
My daughter attends Oakside and she loves it. Coming from Monroe Woodbury which was a very large school district, I can sense that she feels comfortable and secure. The principal is very friendly and has an open door policy. The school has talent shows and other programs that teach and encourage children positive behavior. Parents need to start taking responsibility for their kids-reading and practicing academics home is what brings the best out in children.
Consider a visit to the school district, ask for a tour of the facilities, speak to the superintendent principal, teachers, etc., and ask all your questions; then determine if your comfort level can be reached. Also see links https://reportcards.nysed.gov/http://www.nysed.gov/
