I'd suggest looking in Penn Valley if he's considering a job at Beale AFB

I live in 12 Bridges and love it, my home is 3 years old (it was a bank owned). If you decide on Lincoln Crossing be prepared to pay HOA and a high Mellos. You will not get that in 12 Bridges!

I LIVE IN LINCOLN AND I LOVE IT. I HAVE BEEN HERE 2 YEARS AND I AM HAPPY WITH THE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY. I PERSONALLY PREFER LINCOLN CROSSING OR FOSKETTE RANCH. I HAVENT HEARD GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE SCHOOLS IN THE SMALLER TOWNS BETWEEN HERE AND YUBA CITY BUT I DO NOT KNOW FIRST HAND. I HAVE ALSO LIVED IN ROCKLIN AND REALLY LIKED THAT ALSO BUT I LIKE THE SMALL TOWN FEEL OF LINCOLN.

Jeanna, will you be looking for work too?. Rural areas like Loma Rica, Wheatland, Sheridan, and Smartville don't have much employment to offer for the military spouse. Bigger towns like Grass Valley, Nevada City to the east, Lincoln to the south, Marysville to the West have more employment opportunities.

The schools are pretty good for California. however if you would like to look at private schools in the area Sunset Christian academy if a wonderful school. I have several friend whose children attend and they all love it. It is in Rocklin which is about a 10 min commute. There are also several Phoenix schools and a few other private schools in the area if you want to stay with the the private sector.

You can view houses and the school info on my website (however I am not a real estate agent, I work for a real estate technology company) http://www.thetechnologyexpert.com.

Good Luck!!

For later model homes the Ferrari Ranch and Twelve Bridges areas are desirable. West Lincoln has a little more history. East Lincoln has ranch properties.
The least expensive homes will be in Wheatland and in Sheridan, towns north of Lincoln. There are a number of country properties with land available, not too far from the base You may also want to consider Loma Rica. for homes with acreage, which is north of the base.

There are two middle schools: 12 bridges and Glen Edwards,
The main high school is Lincoln High. There is also a continuation high school named Phoenix High.
