We are likely to work in DC proper...we do not want long commute with children left in before and aftercare. We have no family or friends there, so the time frame for commuting shouldn't be more than 1/2 hour to city center. We r willing to forego house for apartment rental but the number one factor is elementary school. Here in Michigan, our kids go to elite private school but cost of living MUCH cheaper than DC. We know we would never be able to afford to rent house or anything with a yard, want to know where we can get nice 2-3 bedroom in the $3200 range with in a solid school district inside family neighborhood in DC area. Heard about Horace Mann, Murch, Hyde, etc... please guide us.

Hi,

Sounds like you have the ideal situation where you are. Finding 2-3 bedroom with yard at that price in your selected school areas will be hard. However, you will find apartments like this and maybe even near a park.
