I need advice about elementary schools in East Mesa...

Asked by Hartleyrg, Sat Nov 26, 2011

I'm seriously considering renting a house that is in the boundaries for Stevenson Elementary School. I have heard several scary stories about this school from several different people. I have pretty much decided not to send my 1st grade daughter there, but I'm not prepared to home school right now and I don't know anything about charter schools or boundary exceptions... I have no idea what to do.

Arizona is an "open-boundary" state. That means that if there is another school where you would prefer to send your child, and the school has enough room, you can enroll them there instead. You will need to provide transportation, and the boundary exception will need to be review and renewed each year. Check into other nearby schools to see if there is one you prefer- I use http://www.greatschools.net for my own research.

Good luck!
