I have heard that Elyria schools are horrible. True or not?

We're considering moving in the area. Our choices are Amherst, Midview or Elyria Schools. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not a realtor, so let me "steer" you the right way...

Elyria has been changing for sometime now, some good some bad ...

But as far as schools go, if they can't do Elyria Catholic then like Gary said they need to be be heading east and doing their schooling in Avon Lake, Avon, Bay village or the Amherst schools.

The schools in Elyria are below average. The best school in Elyria is Elyria Catholic. If you are looking for a good school system close to that area, I would go with Amherst schools, and Wellington Schools. A little farther east, Avon and Avon Lake along with Lagrange.

Hi,
Realtors have limitations on what they say about schools because any report, negative or postive, directly from a Realtor might be miscontrued as steering. Steering is prohibited by law. Even if that was not the Realtor's intent, the mere accidental interpretation can pose a problem.

What we can do is direct you to third party reliable reporting sources for you to review information on your own. Here are two good sources for school info...
