How many special needs children are in programs out of district and how accomodating is Long Hill District?

Our family is looking to move to Millington as we have found a wonderful house but our concern is the services that will be provided for our 12 year-old son who is Fragile X (Autistic). He attends a fabulous school out of district and we have concerns of changing his placement. We certainly expect that the district follows the state laws and guidelines but we want to avoid "fighting" for proper placement and/or supports. Since we have never moved and have had a wonderful experience with our current district we are concerned of living the nightmare that other parents of special needs children have had - fighting for their child's rights. I'm hoping to hear from parents of special needs children who are part of the Long Hill School District to gain some insight. I also understand that within the same district people have different experiences. Any response in greatly appreciated.

I know this is late in responding...just saw your post tonight. My family lives in Millington and my son, 5, has aspergers. He is now enrolled in the pre-k (skip)program and we are nothing but thrilled with all their help and support. My son has been thriving since being in the school! Good luck!
