That's tough to answer. Everyone has their own opinion. I probably here more people rave about Brentfield than Prestonwood and I've known people specifically move to Brentfield area, but perhaps that's just the people I run in to. My guess is the demographics are roughly the same. If that is the difference maker you might want to visit both schools before making a decision and perhaps let your kids visit too.

Good luck.

I am a parent of a two Prestonwood students, avid volunteer and also an employee of Richardson ISD. It's a fabulous school that has HIGH parental involvement. Yes, it is very diverse racially and economically, but that has what made our school so great and why, among educators, has one of the best reputations in the district. The parents do not run the school, but support the school. What's even more impressive is that the volunteers represent our "melting pot" student population. PWE is definitely a successul multicultural school where everyone feels welcome and ALL children can be challenged, motivated learners! Having such a diverse school may be uncomfortable for some, but my children are reaping the benefits. We have a global economy and the social foundations my children are building now will only help them become more successful when they are adults!

Many tip towards Brentfield -- depends on what you're looking for. We found Northwood Hills to be an excellent school for our children. Exemplary school with perhaps as many as 36 nationalities represented in the school. Faculty is outstanding at NHE, many there for 10-15+ years and able to teach to all levels. Also, NHE is quite small, only 250? kids from grades K-6. My kids were able to be in classes as small as 16 students, never over 25 (depending on what grade -- upper grades have more kids). Prestonwood has a hard time getting volunteers -- Brentfield is packed with parental involvement and high achieving parents. Depends on what you're looking for -- Brentfield is highly competitive, largely homogenous community. Prestonwood is a broader mix -- Northwood Hills has larger lots, and more extremes with income levels, but something for everyone.

Request Plano ISD provide you status on both schools. Compare apples to apples, have you toured the campus of schools? We recommend our clients who cant decide visit both areas observe the residents going to dinner and etc. parks more, pretend if you live there for a few weekends.

Chime in parents with children at either school, but dfrank you will only have one side unless the parents have had experience with both schools. So go to the web site as well.
hope this helps
