Pacific Beach is within the SD City Schools system. My son, went to Pacific Beach Schools and we felt he got a good education. He did not go to any elementary schools, however, but I have not heard or seen people move from the area due to theschool system.
A close community to PB is University City and the neighborhoods may be more conducive to raising a family away from the beach. It is just East of La Jolla and doesn't have the overcast that PB has.
I live in this community as does my son/partner and we are very happy we moved from PB to this area.
Other agents mentioned to you some places to check scores at; you will find the residents are very well-educated and find the area very child friendly with alot of recreational opportunities and is surrounded by beautiful canyons that we all appreciate. The homes are very well-priced and feels more like a neighborhood than PB does. It is close to shopping, La Jolla, hospitals and the like and looks like a 'Leave it to Beaver' neighborhood and it sometimes referred to a poor man's La Jolla; we are one exit from LJ. I think you'll find it better for raising a family than the beach areas?
Some of the inland schools may be better and newer but the weather changes(hotter) as you go East. Where will you be working and what price range will you be in?
We look forward to hearing from you and we can show you properties in various areas where the schools are also very good. Contact me, Sandy Bassler at 858-583-5141, to set up an appt. I've been with Coldwell Banker 32 yrs and the experience we have is very good. We are excellent negotiators, too.
