Safety is certainly a somewhat subjective topic but your best bet is to call the schools directly and they may have statistics that may be helpful. The number for Wellington High, home of the Wolverines, is 561 795-4900 and the number for Palm Beach Central, home of the Broncos, is 561 304-1000. You might also call the police departments as they can be a fantastic source of crime statistic data.

The enrollment numbers I have for the 2009-2010 enrollment at Wellington High total 2,188 and for Palm Beach Central the number is 2,937 so it is quite a bit larger.

I always like to steer concerned homeowners to the website of Great Schools http://( which is another fantastic source of information. Not only do they rate the schools on a 1-10 scale there are also comments by the public which are always interesting. According to their ratings both schools rate a 9 and the student teacher ratio is very similar with Wellington holding a slight edge.

One thing I recommend is to visit the schools for a tour and you will get a great idea about the environment. If I have a client where schools are a top priority I love to accompany them as an added service. If you are looking for a home in the area picking the schools comes first as we can then focus our search within that schools zoning boundaries.

I hope that this information helps answer your questions, but if I can add anything additional please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.

Realtors are restricted in our opinions of schools, crime statistrics, and such. You may want to post your question in a general forum to receive responses from parents whose children attend these schools.

You may have already visited the site, but here is the Palm Beach County Schools Link which provides a lot of the information you are requesting.

That would be a question I can't answer. You would have to call the school district or do research on your own.
