Pittsford?, I'm from Buffalo myself, just moved down in March. My parents have been down for awhile, and from what I've seen, I have to agree, the NY schools seem to have been resources than they do down here. It's not a slight on the state, they just cannot keep up with the growth. The private schools are very popular and do grade out very well, but everyone drives their kid to school so traffic is crazy around the schools themselves. If your thinking about the move, do it. You'll cut your property taxes and hazard insurance by at least half. I'm not kidding, what my parents pay for a year wouldn't cover county taxes up there. The people are amazingly friendly, none of the NY attitude that you experience. Stateville is terrific, but don't rule out SC, rock hill and fort mill. Very close to charlotte as well and great communities. Let me know if you have any questions, hope this helps and good luck

I suggest you look at Gray Stone Day School, a public charter school. Otherwise, definitely go with a private school. Most traditional public schools in NC just don't have the resources or the capacity to handle the large number of students that they must.

I would find a private school. The schools in NC are nothing like NY. I come from Westchester County

Katheryn.

A good place to start looking for school info would be at http://www.greatschools.net/. Just type in the area in which you are looking.
