Hi Shirley
I live in Valencia County and both of my kids went to Los Lunas Public Schools. Los Lunas is growing and covers a lot of different homes & prices. Lots of choices! We have a new high school, making it 2! I like the rural feel of the area and if you do have to commute to Albuquerque, the commute is from 20 to 30 minutes and like Karen said, many people use the RailRunner. There are lots of new things happening around the area, we have Little League, YAFL, AYSO, FFA, 4-H, Rodeo and more for the kids.

Hi Shirley,
I lived in Los Lunas for about 8 years. The commute for me during rush hour was at least 30 to 40 min. driving and depending on your start and ending destination. The housing prices are reasonable Los Lunas has a few different areas and it does include the Valley or Bosque area, much like a Village. It has recently gone thru alot of growth. I will send you some links so that you may read more about it. I have also included a link the the New Mexico Rail Runner that may be an option for commuting.
Please email or call if you would like to talk so more.

If you want all the problems of the big city with few of the services city life offers, than Los Lunas is for you. We have a less than stellar education system ( http://www.greatschools.net/city/Los_Lunas/NM ) , high crime rate ( http://www.homesurfer.com/crimereports/view/crime_report.cfm?state=… ), inadequate infrastructure to sustain recent growth ( 1 exit off of I-25, and 1 bridge across the river), and many shady local politicians.
So, if you are considering moving to Los Lunas, do your research. Bosque Farms and Peralta are your best bet for Valencia county, but you may want to look at Albuquerque... the schools are better.

Hello. My family and I have lived in Los Lunas most of our lives. We grew up there ans now we are raising our kids there. It's great because you are in the country with the quite but yet youe close enought to the big city. Also since the Rail Runner it's very east to travel from there to Albuquerque.
