Concerned about the Braden River Elementary only gets a 6 rating while the middle and high school get higher marks. Why?

Hi Lily,

You might want to check out some other sites that have local school ratings. It appears that test scores in 2011 did drop at Braden River Elementary, but on the upside recovered in 2012.
Greatschools.org gives it an 8 out of ten. This site also gives test score stats as well as reviews from parents whose children attend the school. This can give a much better picture of what to expect.

Don't be too concerned, if you dont like the school. There is good news, In Florida, you can apply to any other local school and drive your child where you want them to go.

In regards to the property, the community itself definitely embraces children of all ages. If you have any other questions, we can be your resource!

Thanks Bob. My info came from the "Great Schools Rating" on this Trulia page. I don't know how they get their ratings though.

For any of the schools, you can find their school grade (and other info) by visiting https://app2.fldoe.org/Ranking/Schools/ or http://schoolgrades.fldoe.org/
They show info thru 2011 but there are Excel files with 2012 info on the same page.

Braden River Elementary received an A rating for 2012 so I don't know where that rating is coming from. In fact, with one exception, it has been receiving A ratings for years.
