MJ--excellent suggestion. I did that when deciding what to use but also talked to one of my CRS instructors who advised me to check out Real Pro. Here's one issue to be aware of-- some of the top agents are there because they've been around so long that they now have a steady flow of referral business and not because of their ability to attract new business via internet exposure. I started with a top agent and if I had followed what she was using I wouldn't be in her spot today. You really want to find someone who within the last 5 years or so has managed to make their way into one of the top spots in their market--odds are they have done it with a website that stands out and is highly ranked in the google search engines.... more
Since the new school is located on State St in downtown Santa Barbara, it's possible to find rentals within several blocks of the school. The immediate neighborhood is largely a nice mix of "older" homes with character from the 1920s to the 1950s and apartment style units from the 60s and 70s. Pricing for a room rental or shared apartment is likely to be between $650 and $1000 a month.
We don't have much in the way of shared rentals on our MLS. Her best bet for finding something is to check Craigslist (www.craigslist.com), our newspaper (www.newspress.com), or another paper, the Independent (www.independent.com).
