Hi Diana....there are several buildings in the COLONY complex. At least a few of the roofs were replaced 14 years ago. The roofs are roll composite. I will try to find a more accurate answer for you tomorrow from the HOA or the management company. Is there a particular building in which you have an interest?
This is a VERY convenient area....and....the prices are LOW!
Remember....this property WAS an apartment complex at one time....it was converted to condos about 2005.

During the "Bubble"...the Colony in San Jose was one of the least expensive condos available. (It was a rental property converted to condos). Many people purchased these properties and many of them used preditory lenders who led many buyers to place themselves in a position that was less than ideal. Many of these buyers did not understand the condo concept...and many were in jobs that disappeared during the recession.
When people lose their jobs.....have condo fees they cannot pay....when they purchase with no money down and many paying interest only.......when values "tank".....you have forclosures.....

Adding to Rob's answer. They are both foreclosures. Sometimes Freddie Mac manages their own loans and you actually make the offer and purchase directly from them. All banks have different paperwork and addendums they required completed when your offer gets accepted. Some want your offer sent to their local agent, others want it completed directly into the computer by your agent. In the end, the only advantage to going with a Fannie or Freddy home is that they frequently offer free home warranties and are more likely to come down to appraised value than private banks.
