Please do not look to others on such an important decision, as to wheither you should walk away from your house or not. At least the bank is WILLING to work with you. FYI, walk away and you will not be getting another loan for another house for awhile, talk with a lender for specifics.
No offense, but I have read that something like 70% of ALL Americans are upside down on their property. What if, What IF all did what you propose? Finacial ruin, that is what.

From what I understand, youâ€™re interested in finding an investor to purchase a home and then lease it to you for $1,500 / month. Is that correct?
If that's the case and youâ€™re looking for a lease or rental, I would suggest that you look in the local news paper or on-line. Also, if you were looking to lease/rent to own a home, again one of the best places to look would also be the paper. At times, there are "lease to own" homes that are available on the open Real Estate market, but this is rare here in Ripon, CA as supply remains low and demand remains high with regard to purchasing homes - but it is possible.
It's always best to check in with a Realtor here in town.
