My wife and I have lived in both Hinesville (1 yr, 2 mos) and now Richmond Hill (10 months). We feel like we've gone from night into day. When in Hinesville I was assaulted with a knife and hit while walking my dog down a public street in my own neighborhood. Later, we had a package stolen off of our front porch by a neighbor boy (my wife witnessed it). The neighborhood watch coordinator was "planning to have another meeting" from the day I met him. Hadn't happened by the time we left.
Nothing at all like that in Richmond Hill. We get packages on our front door every week and our neighbors wave their hands at us, not knives. We moved in from the suburban MinneapoIis where crime is non-existent compared to Georgia. Given that I won't say it's perfect in Richmond Hill, but it's the much safer of the two.... more
