If it sounds too good to be true (rent is really lower than most other rents in the area) - it most likely isn't true..............and is a scam.

That's the first rule of thumb!

If the so called "owner" says they can't meet with you in person to show you the property, and has some creative story about why they are "out of the area" and unavailable.............that's another red flag.

If anyone asks you to WIRE money to get the keys (without meeting in person or seeing proof they are who they say they are) - run in the oppostie direction!

Some ads are scams to get you to call. Usually its those that sound too good to be true.

How about check the agent's license number in your state. You can look up a real estate agent and confirm they are legit by that designation number. Then if email is the only option to contact them, then at least you'll know it's most likely not a scam.

Maybe, maybe not, please see my answer to your other question. If their email sounds anything like what I describe, it's a scam.

Be careful.

Without contacting - There is no way to tell for sure, however it could very well be , as I imagine if you need something sold or rented right away- you would want prospective customers to contact right away.
