Evelyn,

By law, Realtors are not permitted to comment on schools or neighborhoods. We are, however, permitted to be the "source of the source."

Please contact the local police department for information on the area crime rate and go to one of the many websites that compare school "report cards."

Feel free to go to http://www.GladstoneGroupRealty.com and click on the banner on the left for "school reports."

Hi, you can visit http://www.HomeFair.com and click on the city reports section for in-depth crime stats and area demographics. Other options would be http://www.spotcrime.com and http://www.crimereports.com

For school information see links http://www.greatschools.org http://www.schooldigger.com When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Realtors are not allowed to discuss certain issues regarding neighborhoods: Safety, School quality, etc.

Here is a place to start.

It is up to the buyer to investigate the quality of the schools. I suggest you go to the website of the schools under the town and then compare the information. You should also drive the neighborhood and ask the residents about the area no less the schools.
