Rentals in Malibu>Question Details

Tanuki Syber, Renter in Outside U.S.

i am looking for a place that is not very expensive and walkable or transit available because i don't drive. What area in Malibu to search for?

Asked by Tanuki Syber, Outside U.S. Thu Jul 26, 2012

I also prefer to be furnished and near the ocean. Is it possible to find something with those criteria? Thank you!

Thank you all for answering me. The thing is that i live in Athens, Greece and i am planning on moving to the U.S.A. That's why i am searching in advance for homes, to have a prospective of what's happening with the houses in Malibu. As far as i am consered about the budget, well that depends on the job i am going to find. By the way, my occupation has to do with selling products and i am very good at it. That's a bit about me and again thank you very much.

Hi Tanuki,
It sounds like you are not working from home therefore Malibu without your own wheels isn't likely the best choice for you. Other top beachfront communities which have better access to public transportation like bus and taxi's and also very high walkability ratings are Manhattan Beach & Santa Monica. Santa Monica is more diverse, young and vibrant whereas Manhattan Beach is more affluent, clean and vacation like. I wouldn't dream of putting you off on Malibu because Malibu is a paradise in and of itself. But you will want/need a car here. If I can be of assistance with your search when you get here, I cover all of the areas mentioned and am happy to help. If you want to be in walking/bicycling distance of the heart of Malibu central near City Hall, Courthouse, Supermarket, Restaurants/Shopping etc. then I recommend Malibu Road. The rents are high since these multi million dollar luxury beach homes are directly on the beach in the most sought location. Be in touch if you need further assistance.

Tanuki Syber,
Yes.
Close to the J Paul Getty Museum.
Cross street is PCH and Coastline Dr.
That is nearby Topanga Canyon.
Check the bus schedules.
on the lighter side...
the song nobody walks in L.A. comes to mind.
Find someone to work with and go from there.

Hi Tanuki if you do not drive Malibu will feel very 'remote & rmoved' as well as 'limited' to reap the benefits of living in one of the most pleasant and expensive communities in Southern California. As far as 'not very expnsive' has different meanings to different people. For a mre detailed clarification please reach out to me directly
