With over 80 properties currently for rent in Laguna Woods, you certainly can negotiate the rent. If the owner/landlord is not flexible, you can move on to numerous other properties.

Absolutely! Of course, not all landlords will negotiate but most will, provided the prospective tenant is reasonable and what the landlord is looking for in a tenant.

In general I have always been able to negotiate rent. It depends a lot on how long you plan to stay, your credit worthiness, pets, children(landlords have to consider what they will have to repair, clean or replace if there is undue damage), length of employment, etc.
Landlords desire long term tenants with good recommendations. It is better for many landlords to have a long term tenant and a little less rent than to have a place sit empty between short term renters.
It never hurts to ask and be sure to tell your future landlord why you would be the best tenant.

Dear Renter,

Yes...you can try and negotiate your rent. Sometimes the owner will reduce your rent..it is worth a try.

Gilbert,
Often rents are neogiatable especially if they have been vacant for a while. Are you looking for another place in Laguna Woods? I know of several nice condos there looking for good tenants.
