Pavel, Home Buyer in Austin, TX

What tools available out there to be informed on what is going on in my neighborhood?

Asked by Pavel, Austin, TX Thu Oct 17, 2013

My neighborhood do not have mailing list. And sometimes I spot lost dog and have no clue how to let neighbors know about it. What other options are out there?

Thank you! I really like nextdoor idea, but I have older phone. But I found SMS Neighbors to work pretty well for me - it is just sms sent to 512-789-1557 number and all neighbor receive it. Pretty interesting!

I agree with both posts below, nextdoor app is amazing and a neighborhood fb account is a great idea

Hello Pavel,

You might want to check if your neighborhood has a Nextdoor account.

Why don't you start up a Facebook page for your neighborhood? It would be great to post lost/found pets, advertise garage sales, welcome new neighbors, post items for sale, arrange a block party, etc. Do a FB search for your neighborhood any you might find that someone has already made one. If you are not sure how to set one up, you may want to contact your favorite REALTOR who can set one up for you.
