I am curious why you would want to rent a home instead of buying one when home afford ability is at it's best place in decades due to the reduced housing prices combined with the low interest rates?
In Boise, there are several programs including first time home buyer programs, low to moderate income programs, grants, etc., to help people buy their own home. Think about it, the landlord bought the house and is renting it to make money and get tax advantages, so wouldn't you want to do that for yourself and your family instead of throwing away your money in rent?
House prices have come down over the past four years, but rental rates have not. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need perfect credit to buy a home!
Did you know there are currently 25 homes for sale in the Collister Elementary school boundary?
If you would be interested in trying to buy a home for equal to or less money money than moving into a rental (less deposit and less monthly payment) than moving into rental, give me a call!
Unfortunately, there is no centralized place to search for all available rentals on the market--to date, no association has monopolized rental listings.
Your best bet is Craigslist, driving around or casting your lot with 1 of many property managers.
