Hello Evelyn,

The best place to look for rentals is on Union-Tribune website. At least the owner paid for the ad to be there and probably isn't going to be a bogus ad like you will find on Craigslist or other free sites. There are many valid ads on Craigslist but if it's 2 good to be true it is! There are lots of scams out there.

When renting there are a few things to be aware of, one is to make sure that the owner is not in default. If the property goes into foreclosure you will be slapped with a three day notice to evict. Find out if the property is already listed for short sale and going through that process.

Good luck, Denise
