Vanderbilt is absolutely world class; what a great opportunity that is. The main Vanderbilt University Hospital -- and the Monroe Carell Children's Hospital -- are both on 21st Avenue South. If you are doing a little online searching, you'll want to look in Area 2. The good news is that there are lots of townhomes and condos available in Area 2 (more townhomes, condos, and apartments than homes). You can find some townhomes to purchase that are just about as inexpensive as renting. If your budget can accommodate getting a mortgage for $200,000, you might consider buying a townhome. Please let me know if I could assist you further, because I know the Vandy area very well. You can reach me at, or my cell phone is 615 870 4094. (I also have a special fondness for Vanderbilt--but I'll bet you couldn't tell that already!) 8-)

Welcome, Renee. Will you or your husband have a job in/around Nashville? If so, you'll probably want to research the area that will provide a short commute to your job. If you'll visit my website -- -- and look at the Buying tab, you'll be able to find a link that will describe the various neighborhoods. Depending on which area of town you'll want to locate, you'll find more condos and townhomes or in other areas, more homes. Feel free to check in and ask more questions as the time draws nearer. I hope you'll love Nashville!
