My family and I are looking for a house to rent in the south suburbs. I'm the only one working right now, so the rent I can afford comfortably

It will depend on which south suburb you want to be in and how many bedrooms and bathrooms you want. If you want to be in Calumet City, you can find a 3-4 BR place in your range. Let me know if you need a referral for a leasing agent to show you properties (you don't pay them for their service).
