Looking for 2 Bedroom in West LA or Brentwood

Asked by emily.johnston1, Brentwood, CA Tue Jul 29, 2014

I will be attending graduate school at UCLA and am looking to rent a two bedroom in Brentwood or West LA that includes parking for two. Am flexible on moving date (any time in August, beginning of September at the latest). Ideally, would like to pay somewhere between $1800 - $2700 a month. Will be in town looking at places beginning next Monday, August 4th. Would love any tips, leads, recommendations etc. Thanks!

Hi Emily,

Are you new to the Los Angeles area? Westside rentals is a great website to find some great rentals. Also, sometimes I tell students at UCLA to just drive around the university and brentwood and see areas where they would want to live. The further out of Westwood the better the pricing. Many owners use westside rentals and post signs outside their property so its easy for you to call while driving by on your cell.

Good luck to you and congratulations on UCLA. Great school!

Best,

Emily,

One consideration to keep in mind is: do you want to deal with the landlord or property manager or owner directly or a licensed Realtor. If you want a Realtor involved I suggest you go to the website where the agents are posting the listings: http://www.themls.com you can do a guest search. If you prefer to deal with the owner or landlord directly use one of the sites mentioned previously or try using
http://www.westsiderentals.com by paying a fee.
Good luck with your search.

I would suggest you try the regular rental sites:

http://www.craigslist.com
http://www.apartments.com
http://www.trulia.com (Rentals Section)
http://www.zillow.com (Rentals Section)
http://www.realtor.com (Rentals Section)

Between all of those, you will get a very clear picture if you can find what you are looking for. Good luck!
