Me and two buddies were suppose to move in this weekend. Deposit and first month paid for. Suppose to meet someone Friday at 545 to sign papers and get keys. Haven't heard from him and he never showed up

This is a total scam! They are using Real Manage name and the person that answers says that he is the leasing manager named Clay Zimnoch. Where can you report these kind of people?

Have you given us the correct address? There is a house on Corby Drive that is FOR SALE and that has an address that is very close to the one that you have given. That house is FOR SALE…not for rent! If you need additional information please include a link to the site where you saw the rental add.

I could not find a house on the tax records in Santa Clara county with that address.

go to and it will help you weed through the false pricing.

Have an amazing day!

Thank you for your question, Melody:

As Terri Velios pointed out, there does not seem to be a 3157 Corby Drive in the Records of The County Recorder of Santa Clara County.

Either that address is a typographical error or it is a scam designed to steal the money that you have for the security deposit and prepaid rent.

Unfortunately there are a number of scammers who post fake advertisements for property for rent for the purpose of stealing your deposit money and money that you give them for prepaid rent.

I recommend that you ask the agent for their license number with the State of California Department of Real Estate (DRE number) If they are not licensed, they will not be able to give you a valid DRE number.

If you only deal with people with a valid DRE number, you will be able to avoid the scammers.
