Homes for rent are owned by individuals in most cases so you would just need to present yourself in a good light. Take the time to write an explanation letter for the financial problems you have had in the past and ensure them that these issues have been corrected and will not happen again in the future.

Depending on the problems you had it may be more difficult to find a home to lease but definitely impossible.

Best of luck to you.

Yes, it is possible to rent with less than stellar credit. Be prepared to answers questions and also be prepared to prepay up to 3 months rent if asked.

Contact a REALTOR to assist you in finding a property managment company who works with these issures.

Yes, but it really depends on the reasons behind the "less than stellar credit". If it is from late or no pays for rent/utilities it would probably be an issue. If it is regarding student loans or medical then it would not be as big of an issue. I work with one of the best property management companies around and we have many properties plus we can show you anything listed for rent or sale in the San Antonio MLS.

Thanks so much,
