Finding a rental property can be hard as there are so many "middle men" involved. Here are two helpful hints.

1. Find a leasing agent with a reputable company. This is a free service for you to use. Most properties are advertised through craigslist or syndicated websites. They get over turned with thousands of listings a day. A good leasing agent knows the good from the bad.

2. Contact a building that focuses on rentals primarily. There are a number of buildings that are 'rental only buildings", the professionals in these locations, are knowledgeable, and focus primarily on leases, so everything is done "by the book"

Try calling the customer services. They should pick up from there.

Keep in mind that Trulia simply advertises properties that are listed on the local MLS's.

That is not the way it works. Trula states they get real estate data from Listhub. Both Trulia and Listbub change, replace, substitute, supress and fabricate stuff at it suits their prupose. Some critical data are are beyond access to agents who attemp to correct the faulty data.
The statement you made, can easily be construed to mean incorrect data is the result of what is on the MLS. This is incorrect and agents need to stop propogating such a notiong. AGENTS ARE IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT APPEARS ON TRULIA.
The questioner should have their attorney call the folks at Trulia.
