Rentals in Charlotte>Question Details

sjohn0409, Renter in Charlotte, NC

I will be moving from Minneapolis to Charlotte, NC around April 8th. I'd really like to secure a rental home before then. What are my first step?

Asked by sjohn0409, Charlotte, NC Tue Mar 5, 2013

I'd prefer a house over an apartment, 3 bedrooms/2 bath, under $1200/mo. In a safe and quiet neighborhood. I've been steered toward Huntersville and Mooresville. I'll take any suggestions. Thanks

The Charlotte rental market is tight, so you need to get going! You can start your search on the larger property management companies' sites. They manage & lease many, many houses.. I would recommend you start with TR Lawing; their site is http://www.TRLawing.com. You can also try Henderson Properties at http://www.HendersonProperties.com, as well as Meca at http://www.MecaProperties.com. You can also search for rental houses that are offered through MLS on my website, http://www.BuyAHomeInCharlotte.com. This will give you a good start!

Good luck with your move

It all really depends on where you'll be working and what lifestyle you'd like. Are schools a priority? Let me know if you have specific questions or would like help running a rental search!

Hello sjohn0409,

I may have a client with a very nice condo to rent in Huntersville. If the bedrooms were big, would a 2 bedroom work?

A two bedroom could possibly work, but it would depend on the over all square footage as well as bedroom size. There will be three adults and a cat moving in. BTW, would they allow pets? Thank you for your response!!!

Hey John,

Both recommendations are good, I would also suggest the Ballantyne area depending on where you work and what you like to do. I actually moved back from Minneapolis last year, so I would be happy to lend my two cents. Feel free to call anytime and I can get you set up on a search.

Cheers,
