Brittany Pas…, Renter in North Philadelphia W...

I need housing for August 2014. Should I be looking for apartments now or wait until closer to the date?

Generally, most landlords want to rent their properties as soon after they list them as possible. Unless you're specifically looking for student housing, I'd definitely wait until May - at the very earliest - to seriously look for a new apartment. If I can help in any other way, please let me know! Good luck!

Brittany,

Very few places that will be available for August are currently being marketed. On the flipside, those places available now will most likely not be able to hold out another 7 months before finding a tenant.

You will be better off waiting until late May, early June, IMHO.

Hi Brittany,

If you are looking for student housing near college campuses, you may find some available options now. More student housing options will start to come and go quickly in the next few months.

If you are looking in other residential areas, you should start looking in May 2014. In the meantime, you may choose to start working with a Realtor to help guide your search.

I could start sending you appropriate listings in your price range and preferred locations so you can start to see what you can get for your money and compare LOCATION, AMENITIES, PRICE for your reference. Please feel free to call me to discuss what you are seeking and we can go from there.

Looking forward to speaking with you soon. Have a nice weekend.

All the best,

To look now is not going to show any available units but what you need to do is start working with a Realtor that can help prepare you for your search. If you will contact me I'll be happy to help you get started. The first thing that needs to be done is to set up a plan of action and define your needs and wants also make sure that your credit score is maintained or repaired if need be. If you plan to move call me so we can make your move timely and smooth. My cell number is 267-934-1971
