Rentals in Plymoth Park HOA>Question Details

Sonia, Renter in Irving, TX

I have never leased a house before. Is it normal to be viewing homes where people still live? It's a bit strange for me to walk into

someone's life.

Yes. Very normal. The landlord usually will write the lease where he can show the home 30 to 60 days before the tenant moves out so he can keep his rent money coming in.

Thank you. This is good to know...I will be asking my new landlord about this. This is a whole new ball game for me. When I bought my first home we didnt have that issue. And when I leased my townhome I didnt come accross that. Thanks for the clarification

It's perfectly reasonable, common and normal. Perhaps the current tenant's lease has not expired. Perhaps the occupant homeowner can't financially commit to a move unless he has a tenant. Any number of reasons why a property would be occupied while on the market for sale or for lease. Happens all the time. What's important isn't that it is currently occupied - what is important is the date that it's available to a new tenant.
