How is the rental market playing out in monmouth county after Hurricane Sandy?

Well, these sites say they are Sandy Friendly, pet friendly, but they aren't. Even being Sandy friendly, they are charging from 14-1900 a month. I wish some homeowner somewhere would be sympathetic and help us out. It's tough still paying a mortgage and utilities for a house your not in and pay rent on top of it with those's a sad sad issue.

Just started to be real busy with summer rentals. The season started later then the last two years, but now many renters are securing their summer rentals in Sea Girt , Spring Lake, Manasquan and Brielle. Some of the rentals in Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Brielle have been taken by displaced homeowners from Mantoloking, Brick or Bay Head. Also, some rentals have been taken by out of state workers/companies who need a furnished rental. They have temporary relocated to help restore damage areas or are insurance adjusters. Sea Girt as a whole had very little Sandy Storm damage.

A lot of the high end homes in Spring Lake and Sea Girt were taken by homeowners displaced from Mantoloking and Bay Head. We have a good inventory of homes available in Spring Lake and Sea Girt as there was minimal damage to homes in those towns. Our boardwalks will be back and beach badge sales in local towns have been good. Signs of good things to come. People who wait to get their beach house may be disappointed!

In Monmouth County is it not as bad, as say Ocean County but it is still bad in some areas; heck it is bad even in some parts of Middlesex County. It all depends on your location. You can easily see towns that have had severe flood damage, have no available rentals because all the previous homeowners currently occupying. Ocean County is even worse. I have many clients on the barrier islands and had to find them new/temporary housing and after extensive searching, many of them were placed 10, 20, or 30 miles from the bridge because everything closer is rented and not available. My heart goes out to the people that are still paying a mortgage and also paying to rent somewhere else because they are still fighting with the insurance companies.
