Unfortanately it is a wisespread scam that is being tried day after day and hour after hour without let up. They keep cloining listings for cheap rentals, usually half of what market value would be. The key is to never rent a house sight unseen, never wire money and if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Hi Lyn

This is an scam that most Realtors and the FBI and local law enforcemnet are aware of where a party find info out about a house that might be in the market and will likely have a sign on it and they put it on Craigs list for a "too good to be true" price to rent. The renter wants it so bad they send the bank check or wire the funds to the overseas address and never see it again. It is very unfortunate and about the only thing you can do is report it the the FBI.

The only thing you can do is go to the very bottom of the page and contact Trulia's help section. Then the contact button and let them know.
It is fustrating to see these spam ads, but a huge tip off is them asking for you to wire money. Red flags should be going off in your head.
Also you can compare the ads against a reputable company website such as Raveis.com for example. There are many. Hope this helps......
