We allow large dogs in our rental house, but it's currently leased - sorry. Based on another question you posted, it's likely they are looking for a slightly cheaper place anyway. We require renter's insurance, which covers liability.

Have the homeowner check with their insurance company to cover "rottweiler", i'm sure for an increased fee, they would do it.....

Most insurance policies for rental units ask if tenants have "agressive dogs". Whether or not a dog appears friendly, when you have a large breed, most landlords are not going to risk losing their insurance. I do know of people who have rented to a couple with dogs like this out in the country. Myself, I think this is a case of, they should put the house before the dog! As far as what Tom had to say, I have had similar experiences, and have lost friends because I would not come over to their house unless they put the dogs in another room. A friend of mine had his kid mauled by a 'Friendly Dog'

The 4yr old was SCALPED by the 'friendly' dog!!!!!!

I would discriminate against this animal too..... can't be trusted.... regardless of friendliness
