Contacting the phone say that we have to pay $50 dollars so that we can show is this legal?, because find it me absurd.

I dont know the situation, but it sounds fishy either way! Maybe they want to run your credit first? Even that sounds a little bit unusual - though I have heard of it before.

If you feel that this is making you uncomfortable, why dont you look for a local Realtor to work with who has an office you can meet them at - rather than just looking through the internet. If you go to one person you feel comfortable with that uses the consultative approach, you will avoid potential scams and have an over all better Real Estate experience.
