Can someone please tell me the rules about pets in Century Village, West Palm Beach?

Asked by Thelazyfox, West Palm Beach, FL Sun Aug 26, 2012

We are looking to rent an apartment long term but I have found it hard to find which buildings, if any, allow pets. We have an indoor only cat.

That's why its better for Associations to just make reasonable rules (size, weight ) rather than a blanket No Pets rule which will be fought.

Get a doctor's letter stating your cat or dog is an emotional support animal which i am
sure he is to you. You will though still have to follow the rules such as no dogs on common areas,
and not disturb neighbors with barking. Check out petsincondos. org
Also, if you find that others have a cat (whcih there are numerous living inside units in Century Village) or even so much as a goldfish in anyone's unit, the restriction becomes mute point because they cannot selectively enforce and discriminate against you. Read up on Fair Housing Act Emotional support Anmals. Good Luck

My mother has a letter from her doctor, but still they rejected her b/c of small emotional support puppy. Each association have their own rules and they were very ADAMANT. Thanks

There are several buildings that are rentable and allow a small pet.
I am in the process of purchasing such a unit and would like to rent it when escrow closes.
Please post back here to me if you have not found your apartment.
Good luck to you...

There are 2 areas in Century Village that accept pets. Call the main office and they will direct you to the President of those assocaitions and they may know of a unit for rent

No way ..No Pets... it is an 55 and more years old place.. on top no children either.. only visitors max
2 weeks ( if I am not mistaken )Sorry , its a nice place to live for over 55, quiet , friendly , sociable....
Close to everything , if you donot drive, they have a Bus service 7 days a week to bring you to shopping places , and sometimes arrange trips to cruise ships and,\ other places and have fun..
However there are more places around which accept pets..

Majority have a no pets allowed rule. "May" be one or two associations that allow pets in Century Village. "Rental," though, makes it even tougher. Here's a phone number to call 1-800-654-2832

Although cats seem to be invisible at time, they are not welcome in communities with no pet rules. If you are hoping to move into any of the well known 55+ communities with very large, active clubhouses, you will find that none of them will allow pets.
