Are there 3 bedroom rentals in Marin for $2,500/month or should we just give up?

Asked by Avw, Mill Valley, CA Sat Apr 24, 2010

We are a family of three an have been looking for a 3 bedroom rental home (house/townhouse/condo) with a sunny outdoor space (deck/patio/yard) in Mill Valley, Tiburon, Corte Madera and Larkspur for quite some time. Unfortunately we can 'only' spare $2,500/month, excluding utilities. Are we being unrealistic or should we be able to find something nice if we just keep looking?

http://www.housingmaps.com/ is a mashup of the Craigslist database upon Google maps. Check North Bay rentals.
Google maps has more rental properties - see below. The database is principally postings of REALTORS® and some savvy owner managers.
You can also make inquiries with local property managers, try searching "marin property managers".

Your needs are a bit of a stretch but give it a shot.

There is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit in Mill Valley that was just listed for $2,500 on the MLS today, in the Shelter Ridge area. No pics yet and it sounds surprisingly small for 3 beds and 3 baths: 1356 square feet. That is pretty much it for the areas you mention. You may have better luck in other areas, and you should definitely check craigslist on a daily basis as you could possibly find what you are looking for there. There is also a 3 bedroom, 2 bath 1667 square foot condo in Sausalito listed for $2,595, but it sounds like you might not be interested in Sausalito. Hope that helps...
