what can i do to get someone to rent to me if i have an eviction on my record?

Having an eviction is not the end of the world, if your agent knows how to approach that issue. There are a few things I need to know about the circumstances before i know if I have the right place for you. As a Landlord myself, depends on the situation/cause of eviction, i'd ask for Large SECURITY deposit

Maybe suggest paying 6 months rent in advance, and then the second six months in the same manner. This helps assure a landlord and will help you to strengthen your credit rating.

I would recommend working with a Realtor to assist you with finding a place to rent. Someone that will help you plead your case. As a landlord myself who had to deal with tenants who did not pay their rent I am very hesitant to rent to someone that has bad credit or an eviction. If you have a good reason why you were evicted and have a good credit history your Realtor might be able to convince a potential landlord to rent to you. You will have to put more money up front then normal. Sometimes 6 to 12 months worth of rent.

Offer a few months extra rent up front to be applied towards the last months of the lease

Offer to pay a heavier late payment if your payment is not received before the 1st of each month


Larger Deposit

Proof you are in a Credit Repair program

If credit is otherwise good, show it to potential landlords
