Commission is negotiable. Normally the owner/landlord will pay the commission. In most cases, it is one months rent paid by the owner/landlord to the listing agent.

Hello,
Rental listing commission in my area is typically one month's rent which is split evenly between the listing agent and the Broker's firm who brings the new tenant. The landlord is responsible for the commission fees but in some instances (such as for-rent-by-owner) the landlord may not honor a commission fee so if the tenant is working with an agent then he would be responsible for paying the commission to his agent's Broker.

Here in NH it is typically paid by the owner or landlord. Different areas have different traditions and i think it depends if you have more rentals available or more tenants than available rentals. Supply and demand will factor in to who wants to pay what.

In my area it is one months rent, but is paid by the tenant. Sometimes there are Landlord paid rentals or LL will pay half the commission as well
