What am I responsible for as a landlord?
I have a 1900 sq. foot home that I want to rent out since I can't sell it. I am asking 1600/mo. even though my mortgage is 1720. Do I have to pay water or can I just pay sewer? Everyone that comes to look at it has at least 3 children and I am thinking water would be too much for me to pay. Can I have them pay all utilities except sewer? Can I have them be responsible for snow removal? Also, can I put in the lease that I can do a once a month inspection on the property? I don't want my home to be destroyed. I am still trying to do a loan modification to lower my mortgage even though my mortgage co. has denied me because of income. Please help someone.
