Should I even start looking for a rental home if I want to move middle of october?

Help the community by answering this question:

I would probably start around the end of September. Since there is such a high demand, homes will only be available for a few days and owners/property managers wont hold them for more than a few weeks. Plus, by that time most kids are back in school and you should have less competition. Best of luck and let me know if you need any help or have any questions.

I would recommend to start in late Auguest. They usually will hold for a home for up to 30 days!

Good luck!

Hi Liseymae-

Most landlords want their rentals leased with a new tenant in 30 days or less. I would recommend waiting until September 1 but you might go ahead and hire an agent so you track homes that are on the market.

This way you can keep on eye on what is available and jump on one Sept 1.

Nice rental homes go very quickly in McKinney and Frisco, they are leased within a week or less so you have to be ready and act quickly.

I would be happy to assist you with your home search. Feel free to text, email or call and we can begin the process.

My suggestion is to start looking in September for homes that are available near the end of September or early October. Don't bother with homes that are available for rent now since most landlords will not want to wait for a tenant to move in October especially leasing is really hot and it is very likely that he can get someone in pretty quickly.

I can help you locate the properties that you like. Let me know what your criteria is or feel free to call me to discuss.

Leasing here in Dallas one an all time high with most properties on the market at best 5 days. Property owners would want a tenant move in within 30 days execution of lease.

RECOMMEND: If you are wanting take possession by Mid October need to wait till after Labor Day.

Properties coming on the lease market right now are most likely available to be occupied October 1. My experience is that a landlord will hold the property about 2 weeks to make a move work for a qualified applicant, but rarely any longer than that. You can start to look, but you may find that a mid-month move might be more difficult than someone wanting to take possession on the 1st of October. As Oct 1 gets closer and the property hasn't leased, it might be more likely. I hope you find something you like! It's a good question to ask before you spend time touring the property if it fits with your timeline.
