Leasing in a "bad" area... should I go through Section 8? Which rental management agency should I choose?

I am going to be leasing a home which is in the southside of Stockton. I'm worried about the caliber of tenant that I may attract if go I through the Section 8 program, although I have heard that they replace things if they are damaged by tenants. I am also looking for a good rental management company. Do you have any suggestions?
