Is it typically a good or bad thing if the apartment manager lives on site?

I would say it's a very good thing when there is a manager on site in a rental building. That means they have an eye on what's going on in the building. Therefore if something needs repair or attention, they see it firsthand and take care of it.

Based on my experience, it is definitely a bonus to have an onsite live in manager. All questions/concerns/maintenance requests are handled more efficiently.

It is considered a big plus having an on-site manager. He is available most of the time and should be able to take care of all maintenance requests more efficiently.
