YOU WILL HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE FEPS PROGRAM TO THE LANDLORD ON HOW THE GOVERNMENT PAY. A LOT OF AGENTS DONT KNOW HOW IT WORK , WHEN YOU SPEAK TO THE AGENT ABOUT CO-BROKER THEY DON'T WANT TOO.

from my understanding, it is a program for people who did not pay rent to their landlord and still stayed in the landlords place. The landlord then takes them to court for an eviction and from there they get the program which pays the back rent and subsidizes future rent for 5 years.

it does not sound like a program designed to move with (average landlord screen by eviction) so if somebody is trying to move with feps it probably means the current landlord was so upset with that tenant that they would rather get rid of them than accept the back rent and future rent the program pays to keep them.

http://newyork.earnbenefits.org/page.php?pageID=662 Their Web Site and they say ...

What is it?
The Family Eviction Prevention Supplement was started in 2005 by the Human Resources Administration of New York City as a program to pay back rent and provide ongoing rental assistance for families receiving Public Assistance.

What do you get?
If you meet eligibility criteria, your rent arrears (up to $7,000) will be paid, and you will receive a monthly housing supplement for ongoing excess rent.

How long do you get it
The rental arrears payment is a one-time deal, but the monthly housing supplement lasts for five years.

Hope this helps you.. George

Yes it is. I have a client right now who is on FEPS. It's a 5 year program. Most landlords do not know what it is but there is lots of info online.
