1) rental agents are overrun with calls these days, tight market
2) with a few notable exceptions they are notable exceptions they are not real seasoned agents, those that excel tend to go into the sales end
3) many, many of the "Active" rental listings are not real when you find them on Trulia, Zillow and Craigslist. A good majority are former listings (bait and switch), many are fraudulent postings of homes for sale - scams (i can't tell you how many calls I get from renters seeing wicked cheap rental postings of my active SALES listings, really scary)
Bottomline - get a very seasoned rental agent who has the time, energy, resources to help you. My team does mostly sales but also some higher end rentals in Brookline, Newton, Boston neighborhoods and are happy to help if this is the market you are in. If you prefer other areas we are also happy to get you to one of the more reputable and prolific/professional rental agents in those areas.

A local rental professional can save time and money and also to make sure you don't miss a great rental.
