The Daniel E. Koshland San Francisco History Center contains a research collection of books, newspapers and magazines, photographs, maps, posters, archives and manuscript collections, and ephemera, documenting all aspects of San Francisco life and history. The Center is also the archives for the City and County of San Francisco.
Enjoy, it's going to be fun!
SOMA was more industrial and there weren't any "lofts".But the Excelsior, Portola, Ingleside, Sunset, Richmond, etc haven't changed that much physically since then. The Mission has a different group of people as does Noe Valley and upper 24th Street. The Haight Ashbury was more of a scene then now and 11st was the entertainment area de jour.
