Do rental properties have to disclose Chinese Drywall to current and future tenants?

Dear Rusty:

I agree with Judy. There are other things to get disclosed to you other than Chinese Drywall. A couple being the presence of mold and/or foreclosure, liens on the property, etc.

Please protect yourself and hire a professional to obtain this information.

You should ask the owner for a disclosure statement and inquire about that question specifically. The safest way is to go through a real estate company as they are required by law to disclose any problems that the owner discloses to them. Please let me know if I can help you further.
