Do I requiring renter insurance if I rent out my home, or do I talk with my own homeowner's insurance to make sure they cover those living there?

You have a different type of coverage. Less about the internal items and more about the property and liability to yourself should something happen. Call your agent to get more detailed options and explanations.

Hope this helps.

Your homeowner's insurance will cover the home not the renter living in it. You should require your renter to have rental insurance. You can put this in your lease agreement.

yes. It's a different, and more expensive, policy. Better to be safe than sorry - call and inform them.
