Sub question, if you give your notice on May 3rd and leave 30 days later, on June 2nd, are you supposed to pay June in full ?

You are only required to provide 30 days notice. You are not required to terminate on the 1st or 15th of a month, unless there is specific language in the lease that requires it. You will have to pay for the time you are there but only on a pro rated rate. 30 days is 30 days. I hope this helps.
